What we collect
When you use the enquiry form or email us, we collect your name, your firm or organisation, your email address, the type of business you run, and anything you write in your message.
This website does not use cookies, analytics or tracking. Fonts and other files are served from this website itself, so no information is passed to third parties when you browse it. Like any website, our hosting provider's servers keep standard technical logs, including your IP address, for security.
The MTD checker works entirely in your browser. The figures you enter are not sent to us or stored.
Some guides contain affiliate links. If you click one, the company you visit may use cookies to record that you came from this site; their own privacy policy applies.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
- To reply to your enquiry and discuss working together. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to people who contact us, and taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.
- To carry out work if you engage us. Lawful basis: performance of a contract, and our legal and professional obligations.
We do not sell your information or use it for automated decision-making. We will not add you to a mailing list without your agreement.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run our business, who process information only on our instructions: our website host and email provider (Namecheap), and our email and office software. Some of these providers may store data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
We may also share information where the law requires it, for example with HMRC or a regulator, or with ICAEW as our professional body.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not lead to work, we delete it within two years of our last contact. Client records are kept for as long as our legal and professional obligations require, which is normally six years after the end of the engagement, and longer where the law requires it.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your information, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to have it transferred to you or someone else. To use any of these rights, email alz@benefitholdings.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
